In contrast, a few drugs follow zero-order elimination in which the drug amount decreases by a constant amount over time regardless of initial concentration (i.e., ethanol). Most clinically relevant drugs tend to follow first-order pharmacokinetics that is, their drug-elimination rates are proportional to plasma concentrations. The characteristic decreases of drugs over time have long been studied in a field known as pharmacokinetics and are depictable by basic differential equations. Different drugs have different half-lives however, they all follow this rule: after one half-life has passed, 50% of the initial drug amount is removed from the body. Understanding the concept of half-life is useful for determining excretion rates as well as steady-state concentrations for any specific drug. Everything here so far has been textured in Substance Designer so far.Half-life in the context of medical science typically refers to the elimination half-life. The definition of elimination half-life is the length of time required for the concentration of a particular substance (typically a drug) to decrease to half of its starting dose in the body. So far, I’ve only used Photoshop for a few little decals on the paint cans and fizzy drink cans. I’m also going to expand this scene into an exterior too as that will be good fun! I’m not giving myself any time limit on this scene, I just want to have fun with it in my spare time. I’ve chosen one of the apartment stairwells to remake, primarily just because I wanted to try making a small environment getting out of my usual sci-fi comfort zone, and I wanted to attempt to make a scene entirely using Substance Designer and Painter. Download the scene here (for UE4).Ĭity 17 Stairwell and Attic Scene (UE4) by Liam Tart. Wish we could see Half-Life 3 made this way. This is a very polished and incredibly detailed environment. The lighting and the amount of detail is absolutely incredible. The environment designer is currently working on an interesting recreation of the iconic Half-Life 2 scene in Unreal Engine 4. Liam Tart has published his WIP on Polycount forums.
